Following on this year from big releases by Cut La Roc and Myagi on
Westway comes this absolute corker from Dogtown Clash.

First off: >> Buy the complete release here. Do it. You know you need it <<

HOLE IN MY HEAD sees DOGTOWN once again call on the vocal dexterity of
MC SirReal, who last appeared with the guys on FREAK in 2007. SirReal
really gets his vocal inside your head, and the massive Van Helden-
style electroid riff is a completely sick. This is a big, big room
track.

And wouldn’t you know….being the fine gents that they are, here’s a free track to motivate your adidas:

http://www.mediafire.com/?dtgpklkaj63ous2

Dogtown Clash have been inactive f or a couple of years, with – The
hardest working man in showbiz- BARRY ASHWORTH concentrating on his
DUB PISTOLS stuff and BILLY BOREZ relaunching ZERO B. But what a way
to return, and kick off the run-in to the release of their album! With
its catchy UNKLE-esque vocal hook and revved-to-the-max riff, the
original has already been acclaimed by various DJs, with EDDY TEMPLE
MORRIS from XFM calling it: The best thing they have ever done. When
you think that Eddy’s most played track ever on XFM is Dogtown Clash
WEST LONDON’S BURNING, that is quite an accolade. Other early support
has come from the STANTON WARRIORS and BEAT ASSASSINS.

The Westway guys have put together a big international remix package
for this baby. Florida breaks dude PAUL FARACE turns in a corking
revamp, while SANGERS AND RA from Australia also take their mix down a
broken rhythms path while keeping fairly faithful to the original.

Electro fiend IDC, meanwhile, flips the script for hi s ghetto electro
disco rejig, and KOUNCILHOUSE employs the screaming synths in his sink
estate reworking. Finally, NILS JUMPEN (France) supplies a jaunty,
squelchy electronic house take which kinda recalls Riva Starr in all
his cheeky glory.

This release is all set to be one of Westway’s biggest yet. What is
more, there’s even a bootleg video that someone (the mysterious MR
REXLEY) has done floating around online, helping to spread the gospel
virally. The Westway crew say they have no clue as to how he got hold
of the track, but are happy enough with the tribute vid to allow it to
be used on blogs.

Out first Label Spotlight features the Breakbeat goodness that is Lucky Break Recordings. In their own words:

Lucky Break was established in 2004 by Stuttgarts breakbeat djs Jay Vee & Piwi. It started as a monthly event series @ Cine Colibri (a former cinema converted into a club).

Beginning on Thursdays, the 2nd season made it to the weekend and until the club was closed for another fancy shopping center end of 2007, we hosted artists like Shut Up And Dance, Ed Solo, Altern 8, Circuit Breaker, Baobinga, Flore, and many more.

After a short period of time Lucky Break moved on to Club Synchron for some selected events and from June 2009 the new home of Lucky Break will be Club Lehmann (Lucky Break Parties will take place every other month).

In 2005 Jay Vee & Piwi started a weekly radio show on dnbradio.net, which is constantly gaining more attention (especially the “best of breaks” specials once a year).
In 2008 the concept of Lucky Break was extended and Lucky Break Recordings was established in order to push forward good breakbeat music.

Lucky Break has placed themselves in the game with a number of releases to date – many of which are available through Beatport.com
